No motorized vehicles are allowed in the park. Dogs are not permitted at this site in order to protect the birds. It is for day use only and organized events are not permitted. You must stay on the main trails which are dotted with bird houses and feeders. Grassy picnic areas with places to tie the horses and portable restrooms are plentiful. Traylor Ranch is a 90 acres Nature and Bird Preserve located on English Colony Way in Loomis.
The trails are flat and wide and laid out in a grid pattern more or less outlining all of what used to be the fields of this beautiful ranch before it was donated by it's former owners. I understand that it was a cattle ranch. This is a great place to drive if you want something that isn't too challenging as there are no real hazards.
There are pinic tables also and I think there are some tie rails. There is a website hosted by the Loomis Basin Horseman's association that tells a little more about the park.

This website is great because it shows pictures and tells a lot about the maintenance and volunteers who have made the park possible.
No dogs are allowed because it is a bird sanctuary I believe (at least not loose ones).
Driving Directions from HWY 80:
Exit Hwy 80 at the Loomis Exit and turn left if going east, right if west (the turn is to the north??). Continue on this road (Horseshoe Bar Road) to Taylor Road in downtown Loomis and turn right. Proceed a mile or so and turn left on King Road. Proceed 1 to 2 miles and turn right on Humphrey's road. Continue on Humphrey's for 2-3 miles until it dead ends into Colwell and turn left (I think Colwell turns into English Colony at about that point). Go about ¼ mile and the preserve is on the left (you'll see the parking lot at that point). There are porta potties and some water tanks on the trails.
