Santa Rosa

Nancy Turner and I, along with a few friends, took to the trails of this park in Windsor, north of Santa Rosa.  Let me preface by stating that this  park will only work for Minis, due to the width of the  paths.  And even then, we had to walk behind and lift our carts a few times. One goes up quite steeply into oak woodland, then you wind along the sides and tops of the hills. There are at least four lakes, some of which can be reached by thirsty horses,  and lots of great views of the surrounding foothills and the valley below.  This is not a trip for the faint at  heart. Some of the trails went along steep hillsides, with the drop only inches from our tires. You were glad for a calm, experienced driving horse. But it was a fun drive, gave the horses a workout, and provided lots of "Kodak moments."  We don't know how many miles  we went, as my new speedometer/odometer fell off early in the drive. Oh well.
