The screen below is displayed when the Database Search option is chosen from the Tools menu, or DS is typed. Except for the chemical shifts, all fields are searched as text. The search criteria entered do not need to match the entire field, just be contained within the field. If criteria are entered into multiple fields, the search results will be those files which meet all criteria (logical AND).
The Tailer Information screen provides 3 text fields called Name, to allow alternate compound names or any other descriptive text to be saved with the file. The Name field in the Search screen actually searches all 3 of these fields. The search will be successful if the text entered in the Name field here matches any one of the 3 Name fields in the file tailer.
To search by chemical shift, a file list created within the DP routine must have been saved in the file tailer. This search does not look at the actual spectra to find the specified shift value. The user can specify the range of values that will be considered a match by the search routine.
